a bed of roses = an easy and peaceful life

Ex: He is pushing up daisies.

5. He won’t get to the point. He keeps ~ around the ~.
He keeps beating around the bush.

6. He is a good gardener. He is good at growing plants. = He has a green thumb.

7. I’m sleepy. I’m going to hit the hay.

8. She is wearing rose-colored glasses. = to be overly optimistic

9. Life is short, but you have to stop and smell the roses sometimes.

10. to come out smelling like roses = He came out of a situation looking good.
I don’t think Trump is going to come out of this smelling like roses.

Your friends’ situations always seem better than yours.

12. to nip st in the bud = to do st to stop something before it becomes a problem

= Children are like their parents.
